DON’T SKIP THE OPENING is a generic TTRPG procedure focused on generating anime openings for your game through a series of tables and prompts replicating existing classical, slice of life and experimental anime tropes. The aim of the procedure is to have a bit of fun while developing fluff for all the characters at the table.

We recommend the use of this procedure during session 0, specifically after your table has finished all the system requirements for game creation (character creation, crew creation, world creation, etc.) or if you are about to begin a new arc of your campaign.

You will notice most of the prompts say ‘characters’, these can be both PCs or NPCs, depending on how comfortable the table is with spoilers. Plus, we just didn’t want to force the GM to have to come up with a bunch of side characters just for the opening if the game is mostly improvised!

This is very cool and has given me a few ideas for use setting up things for solo play, to get the mood right - well done!

Pure genius. Thanks for this pearl.
Here in Italy we have a cool, heavily anime inspired, RpG (Knights of the Round Academy) that requires, in the rules, to build the Opening together, usually after the first session.
In the rules we have suggestions about common elements, like:
- world elements
- fast shots on every protagonist
- the enemy/ies, maybe just the silhouettes
- a flyby with main NPCs
- conclusion with some big impact frame

So, of course, this document of yours can come handy 😁

Edit: KotRA is avaiable in English too :)

That sounds rad! I was thinking, someone must have done something like this before, glad it could be useful.
